The LeapPad is a cutting-edge and innovative learning device. It is a hand-held computer with a 5 inch color touch-screen. Children can use their hands, the D-pad, or the stylus in order to interact with the different programs on the LeapPad. There is a camera, video recorder, and an embedded microphone to allow children to have fun and be creative. The 2GB of memory is enough to hold both the LeapPad programs and any recordings a child
may make. There is also a cartridge slot, AC adapter, audio jack, and USB connector. The LeapPad uses 4 AA batteries so that it is totally portable. The batteries last approximately 8 hours which is more than enough time to keep a child entertained on long trips away from home. The LeapPad is durable. It was designed to be flipped, shaken, turned, and touched by dirty hands. This allows for children to completely enjoy their LeapPad without fear of it getting broken.
Children instantly fall in love with the LeapPad because of all the fun they can have playing with it. The LeapPad comes with 3 games and a camera/video recorder that allow children to make little movies. Unlike other learning devices, the LeapPad has over 100 games and apps for your child to enjoy. The book app is interactive. It is actually 3 books in one with different levels and modes to optimize a child’s reading development. When a child’s reading skills become stronger, the levels automatically adjust and are remembered by the LeapPad. Along with reading e-books and playing games, children can also explore their art and animation skills. The LeapPad can also be used to listen to music. It is no doubt the best learning device for children today. The LeapPad is so upgradable and versatile that it will not become obsolete like other devices and a child will increase their knowledge and creativity from the moment they use it. The LeapPad is highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a learning device that will both teach and entertain their child.
Robert Dekker, Senior Marketing Director for LeapFrog EMEA commented: “LeapPad offers kids the ability to create their own personalised experiences and have fun while learning at their own pace and we are thrilled that this highly anticipated LeapPad device has now hit the shelves.
“We are confident that LeapPad’s apps will inspire kids to explore their inner creativity. Whether doodling on photos taken with the built-in camera, customizing their artwork in the Story Studio, or bringing their favourite characters to life with the Animation Studio, there is truly something for every child
Things we didnt like about the LeapPad:
The battery life is very short, so think about purchasing rechargeable batteries.
